HARBORSIDE IN KENOSHA
Last weekend, the husband and I decided to take a short overnight trip to Milwaukee. On the drive up, we stopped at a quaint and small breakfast spot in Kenosha, a small Wisconsin town located on Lake Michigan. The place is called Harborside Common Grounds.
It's a very cozy, homey and rustic cafe where the locals enjoy a cup of coffee and their choice of comfort food. The owners reused chairs and tables that were probably rummaged from homes where families dined together and shared stories for years. On the east side of the cafe, if you are lucky enough to score a table, you will have a view of the harbor. Since its the winter there was not much activity outside but I can only imagine what the summer will look like with boats sailing in and out, and families walking along the pier while fishing enthusiasts what patiently for their catch.
When ordered, I opted out of coffee, however my experience still was one for the books with this amazing breakfast sandwich with scrambled eggs, bacon, spinach, green peppers on a bagel.
My husband got the same fixin's but on wheat bread.
So if you're on a travel adventure and need a pit stop, make your way to this cozy gem in Kenosha. You won't regret it.
